Dear #DailyFollower,
Introduction
Thank God It’s Friday! The end of the first complete work week in February 2025.
We’re running through 2025 at a breakneck pace (I wonder if it’s just me feeling the days have gone so fast this year). Don’t let it pass without taking advantage of each day's opportunities.
Take time to smile, rest, reflect, breathe deeply, and exhale loudly.
The opportunities you take advantage of don’t have to be big; see opportunities in life’s simple things and take them. When you do, you have practised taking opportunities so often that you know how to seize the big ones when you see them.
Also, take time to read #DailyFollowers newsletters; they present us with an opportunity to grow in the knowledge of God and become partners God can count on for the execution of His mandate here on earth.
After this prolonged opening greeting, I’ll skip the recap of yesterday’s letter; you can read it here on the Proverbs Series page, along with the first five letters in the Series.
Today, in the Proverbs Series, we move on to learn about one of the earnest hopes of Lady Wisdom.
The Text
Proverbs 1:23, EXB
23 If only you had ·listened [responded] when I corrected you, I would have ·told you what’s in my heart [poured forth my spirit to you]; I would have ·told you what I am thinking [revealed my words to you].
Some Thoughts
The listening Lady Wisdom hopes for here is much more than hearing; she seeks a response to what we hear - an action that reflects our understanding of the insight she brings when she corrects us.
Lady Wisdom hoped we would stay interested in what she had to say long enough for her to pour herself into us so we become just like her - wise, but a good number of us were more interested in running with the most popular trends (noises) of our days.
Lady Wisdom hoped to share her thoughts with us, revealing profound truths that make our walks through life more rewarding and impactful, but most disdained the knowledge she imparts and made fun of her insightful words.
One Question To Ponder
How is your interaction with Wisdom? Dismissive or Engaging?
How we interact with Lady Wisdom matters. When we’re dismissive, we miss the opportunity to learn profound mysteries about our origin, purpose and assignments in life.
As we see in our text, Wisdom seeks to pour herself out into willing vessels ready to listen to (hear and obey) her instructions. She wants to pour her spirit into us and reveal her words to us.
Please take time to meditate on the question for the day to explore how deep your interaction with Wisdom is so you never miss out on the profound truths she hopes to share with you.
Conclusion
Our continuous connection to Lady Wisdom's flow of thoughts and words makes us wise, just like her.
However, when we habitually ignore her, we weaken our connection to the flow of thoughts and words, which can improve our chances of gaining the insights we need to walk the path to the good life.
The good life is within the reach of all who consistently engage Lady Wisdom. I’ve chosen to be one of those who will stay connected to Lady Wisdom’s flow of thoughts and words; you want to decide to do the same today.
Have a restful weekend, and see you (digitally) tomorrow.
Yours faithfully,
John, a #DailyFollower.
