The Text
📖 Proverbs 3:21-26, EXB
21 My ·child [son], ·hold on to [protect] ·wisdom [resourcefulness] and ·good sense [discretion]. Don’t let them ·out of your sight [slip from your eyes].
22 They will give you life and ·beauty like a necklace [an ornament] around your neck.
23 Then you will ·go your way [walk on your path; of life] in safety, and ·you will not get hurt [your foot will not stumble].
24 When you lie down, you won’t be afraid; when you lie down, you will sleep in peace.
25 You won’t be afraid of sudden ·trouble [terror]; you won’t fear the ruin that comes to the wicked,
26 because the Lord will ·keep you safe [be your confidence]. He will ·keep you from being trapped [guard your feet from capture].
📖 Proverbs 3:21-26, AMPC
21 My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,
22 And they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).
23 Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.
24 When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless],
26 For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].
Some Thoughts
Wisdom leads to stability. When we hold onto wisdom and sound judgment, they guide us safely through life’s challenges, preventing unnecessary harm and missteps.
Wisdom brings peace. A life rooted in God’s wisdom is free from crippling fear. Whether awake or asleep, we can rest knowing God watches over us to ensure we are safe from ALL evil.
Wisdom provides divine security. Sudden troubles may arise, but they don’t have to shake us. God’s wisdom gives us confidence that He will protect and guide us, even in uncertain times.
A Few Questions To Ponder
Take a moment to reflect:
Do I intentionally hold on to wisdom or let it slip away in daily life?
How does my trust in God’s wisdom affect my ability to rest and not live in fear?
In what areas of life do I need to grow in discernment and sound judgment?
Let these questions guide your meditation on the security we find in God’s wisdom.
Conclusion
A life built on God’s wisdom is one of security, peace, and confidence. No matter the uncertainties we face today and every day, we can walk without fear, sleep without anxiety, and live knowing that God is keeping us safe.
Today’s challenge: Identify one fear or worry that has been troubling you. Surrender it to God, and ask for His wisdom to navigate the root cause of the concern confidently.
Yours faithfully,
John, a #DailyFollower.
